A theatre company formed in early 2004 by its founder Nathaniel Tate and now known throughout Northern Indiana for its' many hit stage plays, concerts, and productions.
If you enjoy being artistically stimulated with original dramas, as well as classic dramas, you want to laugh while being entertained by our gifted comedic actors, or if you just want to share some of your original poetry with a supportive audience, the Theatre by the Lake qualifies!
We are situated in the beach community known as the Lake Street Miller area tucked away on Gary's eastern side. Our 40 seat theatre is quaint, intimate and sure to please. Every seat in the house is an orchestra seat that leaves you feeling as if you're looking each actor straight in the eye while they are performing. Theatre by the Lake is located at 436 South Lake Street in the Miller section of Gary, Indiana. Since our opening in July of 2004, the theatre has hosted over 100 productions including the debut of the hit one man show "My Imagination", the longest running show on the Lake Street stage which encored over three dozen times! We would like to thank the Northwest Indiana community for supporting us in our endeavor to preserve the arts in Gary.
